1Who we are
LatakiaJobs is a free job board for Latakia and the Syrian coast. We run the platform and decide how your data is used.

2What we collect
Depending on how you use the platform:
- Account data: name, email, phone (optional), password (stored only in encrypted form) or Google sign-in details.
- Job seeker profile: date of birth, gender, nationality, area, education, experience, skills, languages, photo and CV, and your job preferences.
- Applications: your answers, your CV, internal stage and the messages companies send you through the platform.
- Guest applications: name, phone, email (optional), area, CV and answers, linked to an application number.
- Company data: company profile, team members, jobs, and the business information you provide during registration.
- Technical data: a session cookie, your language and theme choice, and basic server logs for security.
3How we use it
We use your data to:
- run your account, show your profile to the right people and process applications;
- send the few essential emails and in-app notifications the service needs (password reset, application confirmation for guests, company invitations, status updates);
- keep the platform safe, prevent abuse and handle reports;
- show companies and our team real, aggregate numbers about platform activity.
4Who can see a job seeker's data
When you apply to a job, the company that posted it sees your full profile, including your age, gender, nationality, phone and CV. Nobody else outside our admin team sees it.
Talent pool: if you turn on a general job request, you first confirm a clear notice that your full profile, including age, gender, nationality, phone and CV, becomes visible to all companies registered on the platform. You can turn it off with one click at any time and you disappear from the talent pool immediately. Companies you already applied to keep seeing those applications.
You can see how many companies viewed your profile from the talent pool.
Age, gender and nationality are never used to filter, sort or compare candidates on the platform.
5Business information from companies
Business information that companies provide to LatakiaJobs, for example during onboarding, may be used by LatakiaJobs to show them suitable products and services.
Job seekers' personal data is never used for this purpose.
8How long we keep data
We keep your account and profile while your account is active. You can edit your information at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account.
Applications remain visible to the company that received them for as long as it needs them to run its hiring. Backups are removed on a regular schedule.
9How we protect data
Passwords are stored in encrypted form. CVs are delivered through short-lived signed links and can only be opened by their owner, the company they were sent to and our admin team. Sensitive actions by administrators are recorded in an audit log.
No system is perfectly secure. If you suspect a problem with your account, tell us straight away.
10Your choices and rights
You can:
- view and edit your profile at any time;
- turn the talent pool visibility on or off;
- ask for a copy of your data or for deletion of your account;
- withdraw from notifications.
11Minimum age
LatakiaJobs is intended for people aged 16 and over.
12Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will update the date at the top of this page and notify you in the platform.
